What started originally as a project to find a country home in France in 1985 led to Eddy and Mileine Oosterlinck, both originally from Belgium, making what is arguably some of the finest Chenin Blanc wines that the Loire Valley has to offer. The domaine has been certified biodynamic since 2007, and the vines have been worked organically since 1994.
The vines are within the appellation of Anjou for the dry whites and reds, and Coteaux-du-Layon for their sweet Chenin Blanc wines. The wines are pressed used a hand-cranked vertical press for a long and delicate extraction. The grapes are typically pressed for 24 hours at a time! Wines are aged in neutral oak, with no additives used during the wine making process, and only a small amount of sulfites are added at bottling.
Their wines can be found in no less than twenty Michelin starred restaurants in France, including six (!) three-star restaurants in Paris alone! This is the first time that their wines have been made available in Missouri, and we are very proud to represent them.
